Getting Motivated At The Coliseum

Coliseum

Hi everyone, it’s so crazy to think that just last week, I was in Italy walking the grounds of the Coliseum.  Now, I find myself back in California and thinking about the wonderful time I had while traveling abroad.

I left the US in early December to head to Sarjevo, Bosnia where I would be studying and hosting my MT3 Fitness & Nutrition Workshop. After several weeks in Bosnia I was leaving to head back home to the US. Well, there was such horrendous fog that my flight home kept getting cancelled. I finally got on a new flight that would have a connection in Rome.  At the time, it seemed like a huge inconvenience.  However, the more I thought about it, the more of a blessing it was.  I thought to myself that if I was going to have to have a layover there, I might as well spend a few days in Rome and that’s just what I did.

Coliseum

I learned or should I say realized a valuable life lesson while I was there: At times, things may seem annoying or frustrating and I found myself thinking, “why is this happening to me?” However, what I’ve learned is that really I’m being redirected to something better, something amazing and something that will help me grow as an individual.

While in Rome, I felt alive and I was enjoying and loving life! I felt connected to the city, but then again, those are my roots and that is where parts of my family are originally from so of course I felt that connection. I remember running through the Villa Borghese and passing gardens, fountains, statues and gazebos and feeling as if I could run forever, life was great! It didn’t even feel like I was working out, I was lost in the beauty that surrounded me and I loved every bit of it.

Coliseum

In my two days in Rome, I learned so much about the culture and history. The friendliness and love and passion that I experienced were beyond what I could have ever hoped for.  I was shocked to see how the men gave such open compliments: they were very upfront and to the point in letting one know that they were interested. I guess I’m just used to the men in the US and they are so not like that.

I felt so powerful, motivated, in tune with myself as well as the surroundings, I felt like I was right where I belonged. It’s crazy to think that the Coliseum had a maximum capacity of 50,000 spectators during the gladiator contests and other public spectacles. At times, I pictured myself sitting there with all those people watching those contests and it felt amazing!  Can you imagine all those people gathering there and cheering for the gladiators? Talk about energy!!! Some more modern estimates suggest that the Coliseum could have accommodated up to 87,000 people!!! Check out my video to witness for yourself the beauty of the Coliseum and my emotions that I was feeling.

So you may be wondering, what now? Where is Michelle headed now? As you probably know, I love to travel, experience new cultures, try new foods, learn the customs and ways of life while at the same time learning and sharing different ways to empower and grow as individuals.  However, I also know when that time comes that I need to get back to business. So with my blistered feet, love in my heart and new found knowledge of Rome and the ever so amazing Coliseum, I now know that it’s time to get back to work and that’s just what I shall do. So watch as I dive back into this world I love and share with everyone my online training programs and my MT3 Fitness & Nutrition Plan. It’s time to work on my business and myself and I hope you will join me in this journey!
